The Rules According to Fluffy

Does your cat sometimes give you a flat stare and then deliberately knock something off a coffee table? Is Fluffy cuddly one day, and then grumpy the next? Our feline pals can be a bit temperamental. What’s that all about? Read on as a local Sugar Land, TX vet discusses Fluffy’s cattitude.

Cuddles Are On The Cat’s Terms

One of the cutest things about these little furballs is the fact that they love to cuddle. However, those purrs and snuggles will happen on Fluffy’s terms. Don’t be surprised if your furball ignores you when you are just relaxing, and then demands attention when you’re in the middle of doing something. That’s just what cats do!

Everything Is A Toy

Your cute little pet is actually a fierce predator by nature. Even if Fluffy wouldn’t have the slightest clue how to go about actually catching a mouse, she’ll still want to figure out how her claws and pounces are supposed to work. How do cats achieve this? By playing with pretty much anything and everything, from cat toys to bottlecaps to fuzzy slippers.

Everything That Is Not A Toy Is A Bed

Cats are very, very tired. In fact, Fluffy can sleep up to 20 hours a day. Is being cute really that difficult? We can’t say for sure, but we do know that our feline pals will doze off pretty much anywhere and everywhere. Some of Fluffy’s favorite spots include sunbeams, clean laundry baskets, recently-vacated chairs, and pretty much any spot that is in the way of traffic.

Cats Are Superior Beings

Have you ever noticed your pet looking at you with that smug, self-assured look on her face? Kitties are rather full of themselves. Perhaps, as the saying says, they have never forgotten the fact that the ancient Egyptians worshipped them. Keep your feline overlord happy by providing lots of toys and stimulation as well as comfy beds. Cuddles and ear scritches should be available on demand at all times.

Nothing Is Off-Limits To The Cat

Kitties are very curious, and love to explore. Fluffy will want to check out any closet or cabinet you open. She will also jump into open boxes or suitcases, and may even follow you into the bathroom!
