Fluffy’s Thanksgiving Plans

Thanksgiving is coming up fast! Cats are definitely something we can be thankful for. Their cute faces, adorable antics, and loving snuggles are all truly precious gifts. Of course, your feline buddy may have some holiday plans of her own. Read on as a Sugar Land, TX vet discusses Fluffy’s Thanksgiving agenda.

Steal Chairs

Cats are always on the lookout for warm, comfy napping spots. One of Fluffy’s favorite scores is a recently-vacated seat! At some point, one of your guests will get up, and your opportunistic pet will hop into the empty chair, looking quite pleased with herself.

Beg For Food

Cats can be finicky, but even the pickiest furball may take note once that delicious turkey comes out of the oven. Offer Fluffy some cooked, plain meat, fish, or poultry with the skin, fat, and bones removed. A can of tuna will also make a good holiday treat for your kitty.

Beauty Routine

Kitties take their beauty regimens very seriously! Your furry friend may very well decide to sit down in the middle of a room full of guests and start grooming herself.

Thanksgiving may be one of the biggest holidays of the year, but don’t expect your kitty to disrupt her napping schedule. Your furball will spend a good chunk of the day doing the same thing she does on any other day: sleeping. The difference here, however, is that your pet may find herself with some extra laps to try out. And, if you have your guests put their coats on a spare bed, your feline pal may very well opt to curl up– and leave fur on–someone’s jacket.

Show Gratitude

Kitties are very grateful and appreciative of good care, and often like to thank their humans for their kindness. Fluffy may show her gratitude by rubbing against your legs, staring at you, flopping over so you can pet her belly, following you around, meowing at you, or curling up on your lap for a snooze. Our feline friends also sometimes show their thanks by leaving mice and other small ‘gifts’ on our doorsteps, or by gently biting or licking us. These quirky but adorable signs of feline affection are definitely all things we can be thankful for!
